[AUDIO] Alison Morris In Her Own Words ... But ... ALOT ... S L O W E R

Getting directly to the point: This chile' Alison Morris, news host on MSNBC did  N O T utter the n*word in her coverage of the tragic death of beloved NBA legend Kobe Bryant.
Alison Morris

But, for the past several days this chile' has been lied on, talked about, maligned and misquoted since uttering what SOME thought was a racial slur during breaking news coverage of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed Kobe's life, along with his 13-year old daughter and 7 others.

There are several petitions calling for her to be fired.  There are other petitions completely mischaracterizing her reporting altogether.

One petition actually accuses her of calling Kobe himself the n-word.  😧 Be still my beating heart!

That didn't happen ya'll.

Some are presuming to know her thoughts, her heart, her head; some claiming that she was subconsciously thinking n*word, and that perhaps it just 'slipped' out of her mouth.

Now, one thing that I do notice about Morris' delivery is that she tends to talk very fast, even on a normal day, but on a day of emotional, heart-breaking news, that trait got the best of her.  I was told by a friend that she stumbled alot that day.

I decided to slow down the soundbite that has been repeated all over the Internet for past several days.

On that day Morris, broadcasting from New York, had been discussing what the NY Knicks would be doing to honor Kobe Bryant.

Her later explanation of the controversy that has people calling for her head is that she "stuttered on air and combined the names of the Knicks and Lakers to say 'Nakers.'  In a tweet, she added, "Please know I did not & would NEVER use a racist term. I apologize for the confusion this caused."

Here is the clip, recorded 3 times -- the original, as heard on MSNBC, then slowed down twice.

[LISTEN] Alison Morris in her own words ... but SLOWER

What ever your thoughts, hopefully this audio will clearly show that she did not say what she's been accused of saying, especially during a time when emotions were, and continue to run high following the death of a sports icon and all around wonderful human being.

May you Rest in Peace Kobe Bryant & Gianna Bryant, John, Keri & Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah & Payton Chester, Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan.

Continued prayers for the surviving family members.

I WONDER WHAT DAD IS THINKING??

Wikimedia Commons My dad was an auto worker who faithfully worked at an Ohio General Motors plant for decades, first as an hourly employee, later as a foreman, and before his retirement, parts manager. His duties for the latter, at one time included ordering parts from various suppliers around the country. I remember vividly, the day he came home ranting about how he was asked to order this one particular part from Mexico. He said, " I refused to do it ." Of course you would have had to have known my dad to know what that statement actually meant. If he he didn't agree with something, he'd let you know in no uncertain terms for sure.  I was very young and didn't quite know what all of the fuss was about at the time. Anyway, as the child of a auto worker in the 70s-80s, my siblings and I benefited from all of my dad's union benefits. We had a good life, and always sporting the newest cars-GM-made of course-thanks to my dad's employ...

Pharrell said he's the 'New Black' ... and then ...

Pharrell Williams (Twitter) It seems super producer-writer-singer and ' Happy ' man Pharrell Williams has angered some folks ( again ).  This time controversy centers around comments about race during a recent interview with Oprah on OWN. While ( again ) addressing the criticism from those who say he did not include an African American on his GIRL album cover ( he did by the way ), Pharrell defined himself as The New Black; quoting here, the portion of his statement that went viral:     "The New Black doesn't blame other races for our issues. The New Black dreams and realizes that it's not pigmentation: it's a mentality and it's either going to work for you or it's going to work against you.    And you've got to pick the side you'r e going to be on." And for those interested in the complete comment:   "The new black doesn’t blame other races for our issues. The new black dreams and realizes that it’s not a p...
